The Hub Update

It is with great sadness that we must announce that the Hub will be closing its doors at 350 Georgia Street in August, 2018. Our all volunteer staff is too small, our income can no longer sustain us and the rent we are required to pay is more than we can afford.

We are holding a “closing” sale now until we have no items to sell (through August), using the remaining funds to pay off our debts. The Hub will be open Wednesday through Friday, 12:00-5:00pm, Saturday, 9:00am-5:00pm, and Sunday, 11:00am-3:00pm.

We are very appreciative of those that have supported and volunteered with us for the past, almost three years as an independent non-profit organization. And we will continue to appreciate the help and understanding of all in making this a smooth transition.

We hope to take a well-deserved break and possibly regroup at a later date (TBD) to discuss and plan for a reinvention of our organization and fundraising to procure suitable accommodations for our community center. We welcome all suggestions and offers of services to come up with a well-organized re-emergence of The Hub Community Center for the Arts. We will take the time to consider options and alternatives to ensure success. Please consider the mission of the Hub: “To promote hands-on educational activities, involving the arts for persons of all ages and abilities, building community and prosperity in Vallejo” and how you, our members, customers, instructors and supporters can contribute to our cause. Our Facebook page, Instagram and web site will remain to keep you updated on our progress.

Thank you to all for your past support.

A special thanks to our volunteers, MaryJane Etchegaray-Szalan and Cheri Mendieta. Both have created and donated their art to the Hub Community Center for the Arts to help raise funds. This goes to the very spirit of our organization, art and artists for the sake of art and sharing it with the community.
